Meet the Faces Behind the Magic:

Get to Know Our Amazing Team

Heidi Puga

My name is Heidi. I have a deep love for food, especially spicy dishes, although I definitely have a sweet tooth as well. I studied Early Childhood Education and Art at a local community college, and my passion has always centered around people and creativity. Throughout my career, I have worked in service-oriented roles where I can support others while expressing my artistic side. I live with my grandmother, husband, and daughter, and I truly value the time I spend with my family. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and creating meaningful moments with my loved ones. What I enjoy most about working at ABS are the families we serve and the flexibility the company provides, especially for mothers who want to balance their professional and personal lives. I hope to see ABS continue to grow, evolve, and never stop learning alongside the RBTs and staff.

Dayana Montero

My name is Dayana Montero. I enjoy foods like pizza, lasagna, and Nutella. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Behavioral Problems in Schools, and a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. I am currently working as a BA Trainee. I am passionate about spending time with my family, traveling, teaching, and helping others. My family is made up of my partner and my son, and they are a very important part of my life. In my free time, I honestly enjoy doing nothing sometimes, as well as watching series or movies, traveling, and spending time at the beach. What I enjoy most about working at ABS is the team, everything I’ve been able to learn, the family-like environment, and the work we do with our clients. My goal is to continue growing professionally and become a BCBA in the near future.

ABS News and Activities

We are excited to celebrate and congratulate our very first graduates from the Trainee Development Program at ABS: Maura Rodriguez, Gleymari Silva, Dayana Montero, Yanet, Lia Leal, and Yadiria Almanza!

These outstanding individuals have shown exceptional dedication, growth, and commitment throughout the program. Their hard work and passion for continuous improvement have truly set them apart as future leaders within ABS. We are incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved and excited to see how they will continue to shine and make an impact in the team.

Congratulations to all of you! Your success is just the beginning!

Friendly reminder to all RBTs that keeping your supervision tracker updated is your responsibility. Please make sure you are logging and updating your hours consistently throughout the month. Waiting until the end of the month may result in missing or incomplete hours. We encourage everyone to maintain their tracker regularly to ensure accurate supervision records.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to your supervisor for guidance.

We are excited to announce that starting in April, our BT Mentors will be launching the Skill of the Month training. This new initiative will focus on different areas of ABA each month, ensuring continuous growth and development for our team.

For April, we’ll be diving into Maintaining Instructional Control and Client Engagement. This critical skill is essential for ensuring that we can effectively guide our clients while maintaining a positive, engaging, and productive environment.

We look forward to seeing everyone enhance their expertise with these monthly focuses and continuing to improve the quality of care we provide.

Stay tuned for more updates and training details in the coming weeks!

On April 2, we recognize World Autism Awareness Day, a time to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and celebrate the unique strengths and abilities of individuals on the autism spectrum.

At ABS, this day reminds us of the importance of building inclusive communities where every individual is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Craft Day in ABS

Date: April 15
Activity: Handprint Flower Bouquet

Materials Needed:

  • Paint (various colors – pink, yellow, purple)
  • Brushes
  • White paper or card
  • Ribbon (pink or any color you prefer)
  • Scissors (for cutting the ribbon)
  • Green paint (for the stems)
  • Paper plate or palette (for mixing the paint)
  • Wet wipes (for cleaning hands)
Instructions:
  • Prepare the Paints: Set out the colors of paint for the flowers (pink, yellow, purple) and green for the stems. Pour each color on a separate plate or palette.
  • Create the Handprints: Dip your hands in the paint, one hand at a time, and press it firmly onto the paper to form flowers. You can overlap the handprints to create a bouquet effect. Use a different color for each flower, and let them dry before proceeding.
  • Paint the Stems: Once the handprints are dry, paint green lines under each flower to create the stems. You can use a brush or a green marker to add a little extra detail.
  • Add the Ribbon: Cut a piece of ribbon and glue it to the bottom of the stems to tie them together like a bouquet. You can make a bow with the ribbon for a more festive look.
  • Personalize: Add any additional decorations or write a special note on the card if you’d like. This can be a lovely gift or a fun keepsake!
Display your adorable play-dough snowman and celebrate the magic of the season!

On April 22, we celebrate Earth Day. At ABS, we take this opportunity to teach our children the importance of caring for our environment, through simple actions like recycling, reducing waste, and being mindful of the world around us. Our intention is to create awareness from an early age and inspire habits that make a lasting impact for future generations. We will be having a special activity at the center, and we invite everyone to wear green, both at the center and at home, as a symbol of our commitment to the planet.

On April 28, we celebrate National Superhero Day. At ABS, we recognize that superheroes come in many forms, our clinicians, therapists, families, and children who show strength and resilience every day. Our intention is to help everyone discover and embrace their own superpowers, the ones that make a difference in the lives of others. We will be having a special activity at the center, and we invite everyone to bring or wear a superhero accessory and join the fun.
